Well done to our London 2012 ambassador Christian Malcolm for running an excellent race yesterday which saw him cross the line in 2nd place with a time of 20.59 seconds to qualify for the 200m semi-final this evening! We were all cheering him on at Links of London and will be doing the same at 20.10pm this evening!
Christian is one of the most recognised British track athletes at London 2012 – he first burst onto the scene in 1998 when he won the World Junior Championships aged 19 in just 20.44 seconds, earning himself the title of Junior Athlete of the Year. In the same year he stormed the Commonwealth Games, taking home a silver medal, as well as the European Junior and Welsh senior record. He ran at both Sydney 2000 and Beijing 2008, coming fifth in both races, and in 2005 he won the European Cup! With already so much success under his belt we can’t wait to watch him race tomorrow and compete with
his team mates in the 4x100m Men’s Relay this Friday at London 2012!
We are so proud of Christian – watch his fantastic performance in the heat yesterday and look out for his Team GB band! Are you wearing one to show your Genuine Belief in Team GB? Make sure you get yours to be a part of the team!
